Advice to a Teen
Listen closely to what I teach,
Please pay attention I beseech;
Do not try in building a fence,
Rather try learning common sense.
What I give is useful advice,
Straight from the Lord to be precise;
So please do not just turn away,
You will get enticed as you stray.
While I was still very young,
I sort of had a real loose tongue;
And could care less what had I said,
Just whatever popped in my head.
A know it all thought I was wise,
But it was merely a disguise;
That had given an attitude,
And really had made me quite rude.
But as I aged the more I thirst,
Of putting the Word of God first;
For the only way to His Kingdom,
Is by solely using His wisdom.
