The Power of the Tongue
Please make your words good,
And be glad you did;
Saying what you should,
With meanings not hid.
Words bring death or life,
Just how it is said;
Causing so much strife,
Feeling hurt instead.
If you talk too much,
Some words you will eat;
The wrong nerve to touch,
Will make you taste feet.
It is so uncouth,
For to tell a lie;
Or stretching the truth,
Making others cry.
God gave us a gift,
Power of the tongue;
To boost and uplift,
Praises from the lung.
