As Candles Burned

candle light

So much love for poetry
Comes first with that story read~
When one was all cuddled up
Snug and warn within ones bed~
A baby small' a room down the hall
Story read before to sleep~
All in rhyme' a story fine
Then off to count the sheep~
Away back then , I still remember when
My first story of poetry~
Lessons learned as candles burned
From a story read to me~
Since that time how I loved rhyme
The way that it would flow~
Explaining things in life that be
In the most beautiful way I know~
It gave one a special view
Of things most everybody sees~
Of all the things that life it brings
Like the birds and clouds and breeze~
Away back then , I remember when
That first book that was read to me-
When I first learned as candles burned
The love of poetry~
