Summer Majesty

Thunder, lightning, wind and rain,
Here comes the drenching downpour again.
Trees thrashing about in the gales,
Sheets of water coming down in pails.

Houses shake and windows rattle,
The sounds of Gods having a battle.
The raindrops fall each with a smile,
As birds flap their wings all the while.

The wind blows dust and leaves and limbs,
And day becomes night as the sunlight dims.
Lightning flash provides brightness all around,
Lightning bolts plough into the ground.

The rain slackens and the thunder sounds distant,
Soon it seems that the storm was non existent.
Nothing compares when nature does perform,
Few things are as beautiful as a summer thunder storm.
