"Footprints Under The Sunset"

These footprints under the sunset,
embedded in the sand.
I wonder where they're going,
I wonder where they've been.

Are they of a restless soul,
destined by nature to fail.
Or could they be of hope and courage
Waiting to prevail.
~~~
Could they be a dreamer,
living someone elses dream.
Are they weary and entangled,
In the midst of life unseen.
~~~
Do they carry new direction,
As to what there destiny may be.
Are they afraid they'll,
maybe lose track, of all reality.
~~~
These footprints wind around the shore,
and lead out into the sea.
Over pebbles and stone do these footprints,
Live a life of all uncertainty.
~~~
As I follow in these footprints,
embedded in the sand.
I wonder where they're going,
I wonder where they've been.
