OK, kids animals well soon come into the story.
This poem begins with the poem: Magic Waterfall
Under Shadow Mountain.
First kid to see a rainbow gets a Nickel.
Black dark clouds these kids were in a pickle.
There was a decision to be made about turning back
Finding Dad and Mom no amount of courage did
each lack. Holmes and Sally were first to run
beneath the waterfall. Then in torrents the rain
began to fall. Into the water they ran one and
all. But there inside was no sign of Mom and
Dad. This made Sidney cry it was so sad.
Inside and on the wall they found a tunnel
Where it lead was a slide that did downward
funnel. Skyler was first to jump and down the
draft they heard her scream. Hannah went next
because taking these kids had been her scheme.
Once inside there was no return. Would these
kids defying Mom and Dad ever learn. Someone
yelled look there is light ahead. Inside so
blackened filled with dread.
Gone was the thunder and lightning and falling
rain. It was hard for any kid to explain. That's
when they first saw this tiny fawn. Who looked
at them and then did yawn. Just a foot away
feeding was her Mom. A voice in a tree above
them said, "You kids look lost!" When they saw
the black Raven it filled them with dread. For
birds can't talk you know. But sure enough the words
came from the beak of a big black crow.
It was TJ who was first to talk. The older kids
all filled with shock, "No big black bird it is
Mom and Dad who are lost. We must find them at
any cost."And then the tiny fawn said in a voice
so clear, "The only Mom and Dad to come this way
are Mom and Dad and they are deer, I fear!"
The plot thickens next with spiders and snakes for
heaven sake.
