Drowning Wishes

Drowning Wishes

I wade the waters of my mind
My queries, my lone companion
I wonder where the days have gone
What dreams did I abandon?

I think of my soft love for him
Did I let those feelings show
Or did I pull away...soul frozen
From my fears that haunt me so

Had my voice failed me fast
Why couldn't I speak loud and true
Was it the damage to my heart before
That leaves me here, without you

Damn! the tears that forsake me now
For I had love within my hands
Yet I chose to drown my hearts sole wish
For reasons, no one understands
