 Taking The Sun
Flesh curtains are drawn
Over oval sockets
Hollow
Dark
Inviting

On tip toe I stand
A crane in shallow water
Growing
Stable
Elevating

Legs stretch like rubber
Growing faster than bamboo
Tall
Powerful
Strong

Torso heaves upwards
A rectangle shape shifter
Towering
Mesmerising
Awe-inspiring

Arms whose veins
Twist like vines
Reaching
Searching
Grasping

Hands expand like flowers
Opening up to a new dawn
Touching
Holding
Taking…

The Sun!
