Long Shall We Remember

Deep into December, Oh! How we miss early September!
How young we were when the warm summer breezes gently
blew through those tall oak trees.

We frolicked, played and laughed by that small stream so clear
and cold; singing songs and dreaming we would never grow old.

But time quickly passed, as time always does, and our warm Septembers
eventually turned into our cold Decembers and those warm summer breezes
faded from the tall oak trees.

Oh!  Now what we would give for just one more warm September,
frolicking, playing, laughing and singing  childhood songs of a time
long gone.

Long shall we remember…
our innoncence in those bright summer days of early  September.
