Rhymes of the Heart

Lay Of The Words

Words running rampart
Distorted out of view
She said and He said
Seems nothing is true

It's the lay of the words
As they bend with the wind
The echoes of others
That shape and condescend

One stuck in the middle
With no where to go
Hoping for deliverance
Battered to and fro

She said and He said
While words go unheard
The way they're translated
Is completely absurd

It's the lay of the words
As they bend with the wind
Distorted and altered
No, they'll never mend

A three-way conversation
Words delivered by one
Leaves the middle man hurting
And under the gun

(Be wary of three way conversations
being translated by one person to the remaining two.
As those words can take on a whole new meaning
without your knowledge, till it's too late to fix it)
