The Rifleman and Branded
You used to be an athlete many sports you did play
You always did your best and excelled in every way,
Later on in life a different path you did take
You became a movie star many movies you would make,
I'll always remember you from those late night television shows
What journey you would undertake each week I couldn't wait to know,
You were ‘The Rifleman' who stood for all that was good
Each week you fought the villain when no one else could,
You fought to protect your son to the very end
For you were his only parent and on you he did depend,
Many years would pass by ‘Branded' a coward you would be
Another great show I rushed home each week to see,
Across the country you would ride
All alone without a friend by your side,
Your rode in the wild old west
Where your strength and courage were put to the test.
Lately I've been watching these old television shows again
It feels like I'm coming home to an old friend
Remembering Chuck Connors and my two favourite TV shows The Riflema and Branded.
I used to watch these shows when I was younger and I am still enjoying them today.
