It takes courage to freely admit
Your problems to God and submit
But we cannot run away and hide
He knows all our ways deep inside
In bad habits we do that are wrong
We need a friend to carry us along
It takes self discipline on our part
Willing to make the effort to start
Trusting a friend to be accountable
Involves being open and vulnerable
It is very hard to reveal your inner self
Like removing cobwebs from a shelf
Seek a friend that is strong in the Lord
Someone to share freely in one accord
A partner with same gender adds stability
Being a good listener, a positive quality
Don't be afraid to ask for some support
Saying I need to call on you and report
How I am doing in the areas that I lack
To encourage and help me stay on track
There is great release when you share
Lifting up one another daily in prayer
When two or three gather in His name
Lives change and are never the same
Ecclesiastes 4:12 (NASB)
And if one can overpower him who is alone,
two can resist him. A cord of three strands
is not quickly torn apart.
