Of all the loves I have ever known
My dearest you have risen all alone
In the days of my youth I made mistakes
You let me back on the right track for heavens sake
And in my dreams of what I would be
The disappointments you comforted me
And I fear not the day I am closer to the end
For near my bed you will come to try and mend
And no one knows but God when at the tunnel we will wait
But one or the other an Angel will be at Heavens gate.
Not often written Maudlin poetry from me.
Written in good health just cruising you see
But I want those who care to know my appreciation
Just to say I fear not old age filled with delighted elation
For the good life I lived cannot be taken from me
As the good people in my life are not just a memory
