The Pains Of Departing
You came into my life when I needed someone strong,
You filled my bleak days with song.
Igniting the dying embers of my lonely heart,
Did you know I loved you right from the start?
I knew this day would come, when you would walk away,
and leave me speechless, not knowing what to say.
Our season of love is now only a memory,
I wish I'd had the chance to tell you what you meant to me.
And now you walk away from here,
Leave me standing here to shed a tear.
I close my eyes and I see you in the distance fade away,
My heart is aching for just one more chance to say.
Now my heart is silent once again the song is fading as well,
The ache in my heart has returned and it's burning like hell.
I'm divided between two worlds living a lie while loving you,
Was that your plan from the start is that what you wanted to do?
I sometimes wonder if I meant anything to you at all from the start,
Was it your plan to play this game with my heart?
Loneliness is a prison all in itself, and then you came along,
And in my heart you put a song.
There's so much I wanted you to know, so much I wanted to say,
And now I watch you as in the distance you fade away.
