I sit and watch as the leaves fall around me
And each one represents a day in my life,
All my yesterdays are all that I can see
The happy times, the sad times and even the strife.
I watch the leaves fall and the years roll away
It takes me back to being a small child,
To happy times when I just loved to play
And I was loved by a Mother so mild.
And as I grew thru` those teenage years
With all the difficulties that we face,
I must confess I shed many tears
All of which on my heart left a trace.
Then marriage came and went ever so fast
But two beautiful children were my reward,
I realized nothing was meant to last
But they helped me over the discord.
Their school days seemed to just come and go
They found true love then they flew the nest,
Time doesn`t stand still it just goes to show
But I do hope their future will be blessed.
Into my life you came out of the blue
I wasn`t looking for love, it just found me,
You were my future this much I knew
`Cause of you I am happy and carefree.
Now I sit here with my pen in my hand
I wonder how time can fly so fast,
I look ahead to my future unplanned
And write down my memories from the past.
