Metamorphosis
Was it my destiny upon this soil
To crawl through life in despair
Earthbound within my turmoil
Left with only dreams of the air
So many things I'm left to ponder
As I hide away amid the earth
Could I ever know true happiness
Should I seek my own rebirth?
If only life could wrap me soft
Held secure within my chrysalis
Feeding off the warmth of possibility
Past harms, I'd need to dismiss
Taking a chance on what may come
I confess to my vulnerability
As I await the days that pass so slow
Eager to see the changes in me
Transformation taking hold
Beauty slowly making its way free
Accepting of love and tenderness
Completing the metamorphosis of me
