Bad News Leads to Good News
Picking up a newspaper this day and age
There is a lot of bad news on every page
Shootings and crime, where does it end?
I have both bad and good news, my friend

It comes from the Bible, whose author is God
He gives us truth on the path of life we trod
Allow me to start by asking you a question
That relates to your own eternal destination

Has anyone ever taken the time to clearly show
That from the Bible you can actually know
With absolute and full certainty when you die
You will make it in the gates of heaven, may I?

Aiming a rock to reach the highest mountain peak
Misses the mark, whether you are strong or weak
Romans 3:23 says all have sinned and fallen short
Bad news gets worse, just like a guilty jury report

People who were painting your house are through
If wages are not paid, they would be upset with you
Romans 6:23 says the wages of sin is death, but wait
You deserve death; good news, you can choose your fate

Lab results reveal you have terminal cancer cells
Taking your cells, I would die, you would get well
Romans 5:8 says Christ died while we were sinners
Jesus took your place, so now you can be a winner

It takes commitment to fly over water on an airplane
Your faith is in the pilot and what happens to the plane
Eph. 2:8-9 says faith is not by any works that we do
But faith is trusting in Jesus and what He did for you

Is there anything keeping you from trusting Jesus now?
You can do it by prayer; simply talking to God, is how
Tell God from your heart you place your trust in Him alone
You will be sure of heaven, not by any effort of your own

Read below what John 5:24 says about everyone who believes
God heard your sincere prayer and Jesus you have received
Did you catch that little phrase “passed out of death into life”?
Eternal life forever, set free from chains of sin and from strife

Romans 3:23 (NASB)
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Romans 6:23 (NASB)
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God
is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 5:8 (NASB)
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that
while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Ephesians 2:8-9 (NASB)
For by grace you have been saved through faith;
and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.

John 5:24 (NASB)
Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and
believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not
come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.
