WHAT? WHEN? HOW?
What happened to me
I frightened myself
As I peered in the mirror
Above the bathroom shelf
Tightness of jaw
Is sagging and frail
I'm looking quite grey
And feeling quite pale
My eyes carry luggage
Huge bags underneath
And age has caught up
With my yellowing teeth
Oh what happened and when
Why is Mother Nature so cruel
She added extra weight
Now I limp like a mule
My bunions are aching
My instep has collapsed
My lady-things are withering
My womb has prolapsed
I daren't lift my arms
My bingo-wings will flap
If I wave to a friend
My poor face gets a slap
My derriere is quickly reversing
My boobs warm my waist
These secrets I tell you
Don't repeat them in haste
How did this manifest
One day I was young
It seems overnight
Like my life springs had sprung
I crawled out of bed
My mind was still clear
Arthritic pains and
My stockings no longer sheer
Oh, ageing on the outside
Is a confusing rigmarole
Someone painted me older
And I'm left in this hole
But tell my brain to behave
It has a mind of its own
Some day I might find
An adult I have grown
Be childish, be silly
A long time we are dead
I'm going to party
This gal is living it instead
...........life's a mystery....LOL!
