Some Precious loves in our life don't understand
The total transformation when we're born again
They still want us to be and agree with this world
We look at things different since God's word we've heard
We must stand on the word no matter what
Even if at times they hurt our feelings alot
No matter we will show them unconditional love
Whether they backstab or even make fun of us
For we are all special in Our Father's eyes
We know Jesus suffered more than us and died
We also give praise and know He rose again
And by His grace we've been changed from within
If others turn their back on you even if it's family
Just trust and know Jesus is closer than anyone will be
We sometimes are vexed with some lacking respect
Although it be little things it's not always easy to forget
For we all have control of what we choose to do
We should respect our elders and always listen too
For wisdom comes with age and experience in life
All of their God fearing elders can give sound advice
Yet so many youths of the day want to be cool
Never taking to heart the forever golden rule
Do unto others as you'd have them do unto you
This builds good character for anyone taking heed to
The world says you always hurt the ones you love
If we went by this I guess we'd feel love far and above
But we can't conform to this world and what it may say
So all we can do is love them and continually pray
For we know someday our presence won't be here
My prayer is they will not tarry and respectfully hear
For all that we as Christ Disciples try to teach and show
Is to benefit them all in life by sharing God as they grow
Call us old fashion but know we can't be moved
Children need to be taught somethings are just rude
Never in our wisdom or wildest dream we'd ever abuse
A wish of an elder out of respect we wouldn't refuse
Most all of us know not to take loved ones for granted
For you can turn around and then no longer have them
So if you have elders that request certain things
Don't have regrets that you chose yourself not to listen
Just respect and love for this is what counts
Not rebellion for coolness to always stand out
For manners and love is what will be remembered
In the recorded book of our works nothing's hidden
