That Swing

Staring at the deep blue sky
As the clouds and that swing flies by

Their young girl playfully screaming to go higher
As she spins and twirls in that old truck tire

No one ever expected a day at the park
Would turn to a hell of dark

A friendly hand promising a child delight
The parents never saw it coming into site

Staring down at that freshly disturbed ground
The father lands to his knees slamming his fists down

That swing was where she vanished
And now sits a memorial statue of stone nicely polished
