Shades Of Gray
Time crept it's way leaving it's mark
Where fire once raged, now but a spark
Flickers upon brown eyes that see
The man that stands in front of me
In mirror gazing these changes wake
Whats left of one who'll try to make
A go again of it today
With body aches I'm sure we'll pay
Pace we will with slower steps
As we run late who overslept
It seems so hard to get in gear
The truth be told, today appears
Our style of dress saw better days
When young was what we wished we stay
But time spares no one this grief
As tick it did with tock both thief
Strolling along we will soon venture
Into the park where partial dentures
Will fake a smile of pearly whites
Hoping they keep in place till night
Shades of gray have now become
The best we have of this someone
Who keeps whats left of yesterday
Of a young man now shades of gray
