 Memories of War

Chained forever to the dank dungeon walls
of my mind, memories of a jungle war long past,
but traumatically remembered for all time.

Not a day or night goes by without thoughts of those
young warriors that served their country with valor
beyond duties' call and those forever solemnly
remembered on that cold, black granite wall.

Its been over three decades now, but to those who
were there, it seems like just yesterday somehow.

Soldiers that stood tall…
young men and women that
answered their country's call.

Heroes one and all!
