Poetry For Everyday People
Come On In
Tonight,
I'm restless,
as night is dark,
as death knows:
what does not interest me,
I hear crickets,
melodies, I pick up
my guitar, but
all I hear is memories,
some notes are too hard to play,
I'm drinking red wine though,
hoping to play without
bleeding,
I'd ask you where you're
at tonight? but I know,
I don't know about other
writers?
I really don't.
But I do, welcome, a cold beer
stranger in hell,
any day.
I'm restless,
as night is dark,
as death knows:
what does not interest me,
I hear crickets,
melodies, I pick up
my guitar, but
all I hear is memories,
some notes are too hard to play,
I'm drinking red wine though,
hoping to play without
bleeding,
I'd ask you where you're
at tonight? but I know,
I don't know about other
writers?
I really don't.
But I do, welcome, a cold beer
stranger in hell,
any day.
