It is Proper to Pray
It is my desire,
That we all acquire;
Our thanks for to share,
For everyone in prayer.
For the kings and the queens,
The young ones in their teens;
For both your friends and foes,
That even gives us woes.
This gives pleasure to God,
In caring to applaud;
And good for our soul,
Be willing to extol.
Pray that they see the light,
And they become upright;
Seeing true salvation,
With no more temptation.
Pray to begin anew,
And their wisdom is true;
As to the Word of God,
To honor and to laud.
