Smile RevivalHer head and heart bowed ever so low, Like a flower battered by raging storm, Like a stem, blow over, bent and bruised, Broken and depressed, life held no warmth. Betrayed, her whole life severed from joy, Crudely cut in agonising deep shame, All thoughts that God ever cared - shattered, In despair, she could not even call on His name. Men - not to be trusted in any way, Stripped her of possessions and dignity, He destroyed her view of God by deceit, Husband and preacher defiled in perversity. Self esteem torn up and discarded, Alone, empty, her energy drained. Yet she found a lesson in the garden, A flower - with head bowed ever so low. 'Head bowed low - yet still beautiful,' Soft words spoken, though not yet perceived, The flower's beauty, bowed but not destroyed, Nor God's care in her time of deep grief. Where are God's hands? Has he forgotten? Under this burden, neck and back bowed low. But his hand was there all along, Hands extended through loving friends. Now she rejoices, the pain has passed, Alone - yet at peace within, God's faithful love now warming her smile, Praising God who reached and touched from heaven. The Body of Christ has many parts, Eyes to see, Hearts to love, Hands to help, lips to speak, Servants of Christ who dwells above. ``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` ‘If you do it unto the least of one of my children, you have done it unto me' - Jesus Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem |
