Something I often like to do now n then
Or when I get the chance it's so-
Is to get all my gear together
And head down where the ocean breezes blow-
Love camping above the beach upon the grass
When the sky is alight with stars so bright-
And the ocean breezes as pure as can be
To sit by a camp fire on a summers night-
To have a cup of billy tea on the boil
Make a little camp damper to enjoy with same-
And listen to the pounding of the oceans waves
As they caress the shore again and again-
Fishing gear all on the ready for
A wonderful day of rod and reel-
My idea of a total grand weekend
Of such tranquility and appeal-
To walk the beach at first dawns light
And find some of the oceans gifts so grand-
As one strolls upon it's surface new
Of natures smoothest ever sand-
A meditation all upon it's own
To camp down by the sea-
And listen to the pounding of the waves
A weekend of tranquility-
