Hilda and Jim are a grand old pair
And they both have silver in their hair,
For ninety years and more they have seen
He is her King and she is his Queen.
* * * *
Jim loved to sing when he was young
And there aren`t many songs he hasn`t sung,
Now he just sits and hums which is sad
Depends if it`s a good day or bad.
* * * *
Jim goes to day care just once a week
On this day some peace Hilda will seek,
`Me Time` is just what Hilda needs
`Cause she`s always tending to Jim`s needs.
* * * *
Hilda is fun and so full of life
She never grumbles about her strife,
`It`s no good crying` she always says
And me she never ceases to amaze.
* * * *
She tells funny stories all the time
Some that had happened when in her prime,
Others just of life along the way
She has me in pleats I have to say.
* * * *
I told her that she could write a book
She laughed at me and her head she shook,
She said `Then again, I suppose I could`
But I don`t suppose she ever would.
* * * *
These two are quite a unique pair
`Cause for each other they still do care,
I`m glad I came to know these two
If you have met them then so will you.
