Mama, Have A Heavenly Birthday
Mama, Have a Heavenly Birthday
Twenty years ago your earthly vessel was laid to rest
When it came to loving your children you showed it best
Even though it has been so long ago
When thinking of you the tears still flow
I love you Mama this you can plainly see
It's more comforting now that I'm living with Jesus daily
I use to come to you when I was in a troubled state
You would sit down with me and wouldn't make me wait
There's no love, like that of a Mother
Our heavenly Father applied this love like no other
I know you're up in heaven rejoicing around God's throne
I'm sheltered in the arms of Jesus I'm never alone
I know God took you at an early age
Because down here satan would come after you in rage
You tried three times to marry into happiness
They say love is blind, that's my only guess
Mama I'm so glad you taught me of God's love
Now someday I'll rejoin you in the heaven's above
One day we will hug and sing together once again
We owe it all to Jesus dying for our sin
You were born Aug. 20,1933 on your stone
it says died Oct.13,1988
But Jesus defeated death ,hell and the grave changing that date
Mama's prayers on earth don't go unanswered
when their work on earth is through
I'm standing on God's promise for His every word is true
You always talked of retiring and enjoying life
But I know you're enjoying it more with Jesus and no more strife
Mama I want us all together ,our whole family is what I pray
In the meantime have a heavenly birthday
