The Ten Wonders of Poetry The Ten Wonders of Poetry Munir Mezyed 1 I got married to eternity And the wedding ring A poem… 2 Bird Descends into my dream Turning it Into a nest of flowers 3 From the spirit Flocks of Crystalline sparrows Set out Chirping god's verses Sleeping in fairies' laps Loathed by Bedouins Envied by poets…! 4 Everyone is lost In the haze of time I am lost Between the cocoons Gathering words Falling inadvertently from angels 5 Poem is an ember In the hearth of tormented soul When it writes me I fall in love With God Woman And Home… 6 As soon as I disentangle The secrets of poetry I discover Angles Woman And earth Are one..! 7 As soon as I enter a garden The Nymphs of Olympus Sparrows and butterflies follow me And the seats call me 8 Whenever I cry: O Mom Angles descend from the heavens of poetry Carrying The scents and flowers of Paradise…! 9 Whenever Palestine Is mentioned I become a bird Chirping in her heaven… 10 As soon as she looks At my eyes I feel bullets Coming from the pistol of her eyes Hitting directly my heart Making it bleed with eagerness… Copyright © Munir Mezyed 2008 Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem |
