Rhymes of the Heart
The Greatest Aunt Of All/By Danielle(Rogers) Earls
Written by my oldest daughter Danielle
The Greatest Aunt Of All
Aunt Dessie you were the one who knew just what to do
And if I ever needed anything I could always come to you
You were that special woman the one we all loved so
I wanted to keep you longer but this time you had to go
Your leaving was a shock not what I had planned
You were tired of fighting the night you took His hand
Your death has been a nightmare I don't know what to do
My life once filled with colors now filled with shades of blue
Every time I close my eyes I see your pretty smile
What I would give for one more time to hold you for a while
You were an amazing woman who fought a real hard fight
But the fight became too much so you went towards the light
I hope you knew that I loved you that I hoped to bring you home
But now you are in Heaven with the greatest Man ever known
I'll think of you everyday look at your picture on the wall
And tell anyone who asks He took the greatest Aunt of all
