Rhymes of the Heart
Keep Her Safe For Me/By Danielle (Rogers)Earls
This one written by my oldest daughter
Keep Her Safe For Me
Tell me what do I do, now that you are gone
Can someone please tell me, because I feel so alone?
How do I stop these tears forever falling like rain?
Lord can you help me; I think I'm going insane
I can't seem to close my eyes; your face is all I see
Oh what I would give, to have you back with me
I have so many questions since I wasn't there
Did you go peacefully or did you struggle for air
I guess that you were ready to spread your wings and fly
And take that journey home with the man in the sky
I can't understand why you had to go
That is the one thing I'd truly like to know
If I could have one wish this is what it'd be
For you to have opened your eyes and come back home with me
I know that you're all right; you're with the ones that you loved so
But lord could You not see; I wasn't ready to let her go
So lord I'm asking You, keep her safe for me
Until it is my time, it's her face I long to see
