Poetry For Everyday People
Words I Live By
The wind blew hard,
trees cried leaves,
I cracked the window,
turned on my reading lamp,
I've smelled more air:
in words, seen more butterflies,
found more friends, the best
mental health care, free,
dancing between two lines,
I found a place where
boiled eggs became
a reminder of comfort,
where loneliness:
finally had an answer,
where I can always
come back,
no matter
where I just been.
trees cried leaves,
I cracked the window,
turned on my reading lamp,
I've smelled more air:
in words, seen more butterflies,
found more friends, the best
mental health care, free,
dancing between two lines,
I found a place where
boiled eggs became
a reminder of comfort,
where loneliness:
finally had an answer,
where I can always
come back,
no matter
where I just been.
