To Fit Or Not To Fit

I am not
writing
for the New Yorker,
although
I have sent them
many submissions,

ten years ago
I got a hand written note
saying: sorry we couldn't use
any of these poems but please
send more, So I recently sent more,

the last place a writer
wants to be
is in the confines
of fitting in,

it's lack of
got us writing
in the first place.
