The moon parades in gowns of evening
Upon charcoal skies and stars of bright
Flawless stages of lonesome dreaming
Salute the ruler of our nights
Her sleepless smile of light dim white
Rest in pillows of golden lights
Upon lakes of blue and amber sights
She adores her endless nights...
And she retires for the evening
As I retire for the night...
