Rib it, rib it is all he could say
To her whose soft hands held him today
With eyes bulging wide these sounds he did make
Were words all his own telling of his heartbreak
He hopped up and down and called out to her
Who gave him the time to tell what occurred
But sadly the princess would not understand
How much this small frog wish he were a man
His calls were persistent, loud and then some
With every poor rib it wishing he was handsome
To lure his princess who took out the time
To share his great pond surrounded by vines
His pad held a space decorated with flowers
Picked just for her who'd spend but an hour
To visit her friend each passing day
Today her visit would leave him dismayed
You see the princess would soon have to wed
Some other prince charming instead of me Ed
Whose green skin got greener with envy for one
Who stole what he loved leaving Ed who'd become
Just one of many, of frogs who once wished
They planted a wet one on her he'd not kissed
