 Ahhh Mike

My cousin, Mike's funeral is going on
right now in Reno, Nevada.
Of course, I couldn't be there,
so I wrote him a letter instead.

Because you are all so close to me,
I thought I would share it with you, too.

ahhh Mike~~~

Ahhh Mike, how good it was to sit with Sarah and you
and sing the songs we learned as children, oh, so long ago.
To worship with you, to hear you speak the truth as you know it, to share your witness with those with ears to hear.
What fun it is to remember old times, old family, long gone,
who's memory lingers still in hearts that loved so well.
I shall miss so much about you, Mike.  That easy smile that lights up your face, the laughter in your voice, the soft and loving look in your eyes.  Your pride in Sarah and your children, and those beloved grandchildren.  How much you enjoyed your family, always speaking so highly of them, so full of pride in their accomplishments, so forgiving of any short-comings they might have had.  I feel so privileged to have been able to spend this time with you and Sarah, to get reacquainted, to be able to look at you and see your Dad's good looks, and your Mom's wit and charm.  This has been a Blessing for me.
In all my years of living, Mike, there are only three things I am sure of, beyond a shadow of a doubt.
LOVE IS ETERNAL
and you take with you all the love that your family and friends hearts can hold, as well as all the love you have given to them over all these wondrous years.
GOD IS IN ALL THE DETAILS OF THAT LOVE
and laying you into Jesus' Loving Arms, knowing that you are free of all pain, that you can run and not get weary, walk and not faint, and that you are singing now with the choirs of Angels the songs of prayer and praise we sang together, allows us all to celebrate the journey of your life and how you touched each one of us.
LOVE IS THE ANSWER, NO MATTER THE QUESTION
so we know that, when we miss you most of all, when our hearts ache with your passing, and we might feel we cannot go on another moment, let alone another day, we can draw on the love we shared together, and the love we shared for our Savior, and find that love is the answer, no matter what the question might be.
One last request, Mike, which I am sure you will be doing anyway.  As you are met at the Pearly Gates and welcomed into heaven by those who have gone before, share with them our time together, and let them all know that they are gone from this sphere, but never forgotten, and deliver our love.
God Bless, Mike,
and remember..........
U R Loved.
