The Void
- Turn back the Tide - A Message for the Ukraine
The night sky lights up with orange,
yellow, red and crimson.
As the bombs reighned down onto what was
once a thriving city.
The market in Mariupol becomes a distorted
mass of burning metal and stone.
As civilians lay where they fell, frozen
in the harsh winter innoscsant and left alone.
The Eire silence of genocide lingers in the
air, while timbers smoulder and burn.
All around is like a vision from hell.
As the world looks on ; not knowing
which way to turn.
The sound of rapid fire and bombs echoes
across the vallies, as poeple seek refuge
in bunkers or their homes. As the ground
shook, while flames burn higher and higher.
What would you do ? As the world you knows burns
all around. The world's goverents debate about
the ongoing situation.
People rally to the cause, sending aid and much
needed warm winter clothing, as Putin's armies
surround them.
The Ukrainian people in in fear. Mother's,are
crying, as their children lay dieing.
Brothers, sisters, sons and daughters, how many
more civilians must be needlessly slaughtered.
As Putin's plans keep been thwaughted.
Amongst the ruins, there must be hope ?
A semblance of unity, under extreme conditions.
Or how else will the survivors be able to cope.
They search for their loved ones and count the
cost, greiving for those who are close to
them that they have lost.
News crews, film the atrosoteis have taken place.
As retreating troops leave death in their wake; no
rules of engagement, no justice for them to face.
Husbands and father's, family and friends, those brave
batton down for a fight, ready to face the enemy, to
to protect their country, the future upon which their
sacrifice depends.
Turn back the Tide of this war, we see their suffering
and pray for this to end. As Ukrainians join as one United
force, as invading armies descend.
A messege for the poeple of the Ukraine.
We are appauled by the inhumanity that we are seeing, as
events unfold.
Baring witness to war crimes, as the news headlines of stories
to be told.
Refugees flee to countries, to escape the fighting. So they can
survive, unaware of those who stayed behind, are still alive.
The world hears your voices, as you speak out against your oppressers
as your country's flag is used as a symbole of hope ; against a tide
of hate.
As captured Russian conscripts plead forgiveness, on phone calls to their
disstraught mother's.
Creators litter a small town, where buildings are scared from the affects
of war, as death from the skies came reigning down.
Turn back the tide of this elegal conflict.
Born from curruption and an iron clad need for control and power, of a
Soviet run state.
As propaganda and false information spread like wild fires of burning
hate. This is a messege for the Ukraine, we hear your voices, and see the
pain etched onto your face.
We will pray for you, and hope you make it through, so you can escape to a
safer and peaceful place.
