Remember the broken branches on my tree
Remember I said Lord, they reminded me of me.
I said that I knew that the branches would mend
And that my heart would sing once again.
So I watch the tree as it's leaves returned
I thought for certain this meant I had learned.
My heart felt stronger, there was no more pain
It was a feeling that mere words could not explain.
Then one day Lord, when I was passing by
All my branches were gone, and I asked You why?
Too impatient to listen, I concluded on my own
They'll be back even stronger when they return.
See You speak to Your children in all sorts of ways,
You always have Lord since the beginning of days.
So This was my reasoning for the branches, no more
I thought You were giving me better wings to soar.
So I waited patiently to see what You would do
But what would happen next, only You knew.
I remember that day, it hasn't been that long,
It was the day that I saw, my tree was all gone.
As I stood by the stump that once was my tree,
These were the words that You spoke to me.
Listen my little child, I want you to know
Your leaves and your branches, all of you must go.

Remember my stump that once represented me?
how i reasoned and questioned what the meaning might be?
Well, low and behold what i sight i did see
when i walked by the site that once hosted my TREE!
Lay a pile of dirt, nothing more then flat ground,
empty and barren not even a stump could be found.
Less then an hour ago this prayer, i did pray
GRACE to be nothing were the words I did say!
Nothing left of me, is so much what I need,
reduce me to dirt, so that i can succeed.
No more dreams to be a tall flourishing tree,
I want to be only, who YOU CALL ME TO BE!
Verily, verily, I say unto you,
Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die,
it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. John 12:24
