FLOATING ON STEEL BLADES



  


FLOATING ON STEEL BLADES

The sky was gray with little patches of blue hiding between the clouds
Mist hung on the trees like a lacy shroud

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Snow and Ice on the street did lay
adding an extra chill to an already cold day

≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈
≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈

On a frozen pond couples did skate
Floating on steel blades doing figure eights

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

 Her hands inside her muff  -  His arm around her waist
His hands her body did brace

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

You are my special angel he whispered low
Tell me I am your only beau

Over the ice they did float
On his words of love she did dote

Though the ground was covered with ice and snow
Inside her heart she was warm with a special glow
