Have you ever wondered
What it's like to feel the dread,
To lay within the hunger
Of whatever lies ahead?
You wonder if somebody cares
Or will walk a mile for you,
To pat your back, to not look back
At things that make you blue.
You realize you're not alone
In hunger, and dispair,
For many others share your plight
With hope someone will care...
Enough, to hold a hand stretched out
In comfort given free,
A smile to light the beaten path
To walk, but now with glee.
For someone took the needed time
To help where 'ere they can,
A young voice cries in gratitude
With love for fellow man.
If we could all just stop, and think
Instead of watching souls that sink
In dispair, with fear no one cares,
Reach out to them, it's time to share.

~ How many have ever been afraid? How many have ever felt hunger and dispair while they wait to see if they will live to see the morning?
Too many times we can't see for looking, can't hear for listening.
We can't see the forest for the trees. That is what inspired this poem.~
