Heavenly Father, please hear and watch over us tonight.
We need so much guidance to do this job right.
Sometimes the pressure is so hard to bare we often wonder if anyone cares.
How do we go to work to face another day knowing those inmate treat us this crazy way?
Heavenly Father, please forgive us our sins.
We want to better things but where do we begin?
Give us strength to resist the retaliation we desire.
Help us keep each day free of gun fire,
And God bless our families whose eyes silently plead
for us not to get hurt as they watch us leave.
And God bless our mothers who cry at night
worried that we'll die in yet another gang fight.
Heavenly Father, please answer our prayers.
Please let us now your listening up there.
When will it end? What is it all for?
Do they have to prove to their homies,
their down on hard core?
Sometimes we even wonder; How will we die?
By a riot or a shank in our side!
