 'Inspiration In Thought'

'Forest Mist'

Did you see her light so gently, upon the cold, hard ground,
With wings of translucent feathers beating softly to the sound
That only she can hear?

Were you there, when she set upon the surface as though it were unstable,
Unable to support her added weight
Though she be light as a wispy feather?

Did you marvel at her presence, and the silence that it caused
Among the creatures great, and small
Who gaze at her in awe?

Do you feel her pain, see her tears, while she sits as though at peace
While quietly her legs she does embrace
And somehow feels the need to hide her face?

Just like my fellow friends, I stand in wonderment, and awe
And pale within the power she commands
Though not one word does she emit.

But through it all, she knows exactly where she is
As well as the direction of her soul
For it is like a beacon in the dark.

And when my life is at its end, and I may have one final wish,
I'll wish to take my place like her
Within the forest mist.

~ The world is vast. It's timeless, beautiful
--mystical, and through eyes which truly look
at what reveals itself can it be truly seen.
Inspiration comes from many places and
this poem reveals one of mine. ~
