What good are words, or why do we even use them
When they miss the intended mark they're used for?
What happened to reason, where did it go
When I lost the right words that I need him to know?
I have tried so hard to use the words
That so express my inner thoughts,
My feelings lost so deep within
A broken heart that is cast away.
If words can soothe a dying man
And touch an infant's silent cry,
Then why can't mine find a way
To touch a heart that's gone away?
Where are the words I seek to find
To comfort now my aching mind?
They escaped my being and ran away
They've disappeared, like I wish I could.
Whoever said words could pardon the innocent
Or bring justice to those who need it?
Where are the words when needed the most
To clarify mistakes with no intentions made?
Words can cause laughter, bring joy ever after
They can even put cash in the bank,
They can arrange a fine holiday in a sot after place,
Or erase a bad memory that puts tears on your face.
Whatever the reason, regardless of season
There is always a word to be found,
But this time they elude me, and choose to forsake me
'Till they laugh at my bones in the ground.

~ Words, they can be powerful, delightful,
sweet, and encouraging. Words can also be
hateful, sarcastic, damaging, and condemning.
They can boost a person's moral to the point
of extreme joy, or they can completely tear
them apart. When they are meant to honor
and love they are wonderful, but when they
mean to hurt and hate, they can bring you
to your knees with more fury than a hurricane.
Yet I still believe misconstrued words with
malice for a chaser, are still the hardest
to swallow. ~
