Annual Holidays‘Twas the day after Christmas Time for a little pause In the hectic existence Of a busy Mr Klaus The sledge had been greased And parked behind locked doors Now fully serviced and waiting To be used next year once more The reindeer had been despatched For their annual holiday break Loaded down with all those things That reindeer like to take The elves and other helpers Were lounging around the place With quiet satisfaction Painted on every face The washing up was piled Neatly in the sink Forgotten for a while As they all took forty winks The alarm clock was set For June the twenty fourth And all was so peaceful now Up there in Lapland's north His inspection completed Santa gave a little smile Before stretching in his chair Time to sleep for a little while Vote for this poem
