'Sleeping Skies'

Have you ever wondered
As you watch the mystic sea,
How many times it's lapped ashore
While fairies laugh with glee?

Do you ever stop to wonder
Where these magic gnomes do dwell,
Do you think they come from heaven
Or maybe cast from hell?

They are as old as time itself
They smile with father sun,
Their eyes glow soft like mother moon
Who lights their path to run.

They play amongst the sleeping skies
With feathers,lace, and tinsel,
Their laughter rings beyond the clouds
While silently they whistle.

Do you hear the mystic sea
Kiss soft upon the shore?
As fairies dip their bare white toes
In waves that come no-more.

Then away they fly on magic wings
To places far, and wide,
But they'll return as morning dawns
To greet the rising sky.

~ One of my favourite places to spend
quality time is beside the water. I
always find peace and solitude
listening to it lap ashore, never
ceasing to miss one second in
rhythm. It's there where the horizon
meets the sky that you can see into
eternity, and envision whatever you'd
like to see. These were my thoughts as
I wrote this poem. ~
