 'Inspiration In Thought'

'Impressions of Time'

As finest wine grows sweet with time
Memories, come to fill your mind,
Sometimes their wonders fill your sleep,
You let the flavour pull you deep.

And while you lay upon your bed
Daytime thoughts, give way as threads
Of silken luster stroke your mind,
They'll steal your thoughts, they'll leave you blind.

They plunge you further back in time
Where once you heard a lullaby,
The melody still lingers near
Though hidden, in a web of fear.

The nights are long, they never end
When time plays games inside your head,
You find you're caught within a tide
And lost, within impressions of time.

~ So many thoughts consume one's mind
with constant wonder, worry, and wishing.
Sometimes each happen in single form,
sometimes all at once. At times they can
play unnecessary games--certainly nothing
to bring pleasure, yet without thought
life would stagnate. These 'thoughts',
were the inspiration for this poem.  ~
