Country SpotsThere's country spots out and about In the Australian country side- Where we often wish to return to And sit there again with pride- Have a cup of hot black tea And a scone or two as well- Some places we remember so Of a few how I could tell- Tranquil places along a track Or by a creek out there some where- Where silence reined but for natures song And ever pure was the country air- A place that just stuck in a mind A memory of a moment grand- Where we sat and talked awhile The first time I held her hand- A shady tree , a babbling brook A bird that sand that day- Country spots Australian style Not far out by the country way- Where I wrote a poem or two Painted a picture in my mind- Lovely places I shall return And so many more to find- Terrence Michael Sutton copyright 2008 Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
