Stopping for a moment by the creek
To give his horse a drink-
Water running shallow over stone
As hooves in wet sand sink-
Breezes blow through gum trees there
As cattle near they bellow-
Sheep graze on bank not far away
A Horse and dog and fellow-
Dog it swims then shakes about
As soft sun rays filter there-
Slowly gentle water slowly flows
And pure the country air-
A little shade a little drink
Fellow sits in saddle , rolls a smoke-
A call of bird breaks silence there
A topknot pigeon or mo poke-
A country spot down by the way
Where rippling waters flow-
Within the shade of large gum trees
A break out along the track to go-
Fellow later rides up the slope
Dog shakes again in breeze-
Horse now quenched feels better now
Fellow rides of into trees-
A country moment ever grand
A break to stop awhile-
To give his horse a drink and rest
Then ride off again his country mile-
