I was born in Liverpool under a rock!
Me mother despised me so I became a hard-knock!
I never pinched wheels off a car; I never stole from a shop!
Cos my religion is Catholic and I was ruled by the clock!
In at eight every night and no messing about,
Or we'd get a belt that hurt, aint no doubt!
We roamed the streets of Liverpool, all over the town,
Chucked bread in the Mersey to see if it'd drown!
Cos the water's dead murky, and as thick as mud!
And I'm sure the bread would've sunk if only it could!
But the mud's like a sewer on a very bad day!
The bread always stuck solid, but that's really ok!
We roamed round the streets playing knock-and-run!
But if we got caught, we got a belt on off our mum!
And hop-scotch was cool, as long as you didn't fall!
So we always did our very best, and gave it our all!
At the park we'd roll down the entire grass bank!
But if it ruined our clothes, we got more than a spank!
We always went back home, totally full of mud!
We'd have washed it off first, if only we could!!
But we knew the score; oh, the result every time!
Was a belt on the bum, and detention as a fine!
Confined to our room, it was as bad as school!
But hey, its ok, if we were guilty, it was cool!
Cos we're all Liverpool muckers bound in blood!
The secret society of Scousers, oh but it's good!
We never snitched on each other, cos that was the rule!
Anyone who broke the code, was a stupid fool!
Cos they'd be sacked from our gang, cos the code is true!
So we stick to it firmly, its the right thing to do!
But other than that, we're all cool kids on the block!
Just normal Liverpool Scousers, so named; hard-knock!
As only a Scouser can be!!
