Thirst for God
Oh God, my Dear God,
It is you I thirst;
To honor and laud,
By putting You first.
Early will I search,
My soul is so dry;
For the vultures perch,
To pluck out my eye.
I'm wasting away,
For the desire;
The flesh wants to stray,
In sinful fire.
My lips want to speak,
In giving You praise;
And able to seek,
Only righteous ways.
Lord, please quench the flame,
Of torment and strife;
So I can proclaim,
With Your water of life.
